Life for Merideth was an Adventure.

Welcome
to the Merideth Howard Memorial Knife website.
This is a place to remember Merideth who she was and those she touched. There is information on who Merideth was,
some video put together about her and a space for you to add your own exepeiriances.
Why Knives
In 2009 I decided I need to do something more to remember Merideth. I had donated 10 M1 Garands to a Texas A&M Drill team that was doing 21 gun salutes at veteran’s funerals. They had been at Merideth’s celebration at Corpus Christi in 2007. But that was a one-time thing I wanted something that would be ongoing and reach more people.
Merideth told me the most useful thing she took with her to Afghanistan was the Spyderco folding pocket (Military Model) knife I sent with her. After some research I found that Spyderco has its own laser engraving department and does a very good job at reasonable prices. I picked the Endura 4 with the SpyderEdge serrated edge and fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle. Over the years the blade serrations have varied from full and half blade length depending on availability. The serrated edge is purely a personal preference. I have carried a knife most of my life and found a good, serrated edge is sharp more often than a plane edge.
The following pages show year by year what was made and where they went. This is a space for those of you with knives to add your own part of the story. Add your own story, it can be as simple as your name and how you got your knife. Did you commission out of Texas A&M, were you deployed, did you know Merideth, or did you run into me in a deli? Or Did you have a story before you got your knife or did your adventure happen after you got a knife. We want to hear about it and add it to the knife legend.
I now have a dedicated email address for this site.
Please send in your whatever you want to share, and I will process them as I can.
